Many of you will have either received or bought yourself an Echo or similar device over the holiday period. You will now want to add “Smart” features to your home. For those of you a bit more adventurous and know a thing or so about electrics you might like to consider a Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch<\/a>* or three. Kasa do a range of Alexa<\/a>* enabled light switches but we are looking at the dimmer switch variant today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kasa dimmer light switch<\/a> allows you to create the perfect lighting mood with either a simple voice command, tap of an app or click of a switch. The switch can be controlled by the Alexa app<\/a>*, an Alexa controlled device, Google home device or the Kasa app. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the “Gentle Off” mode you can gently fade the lights in the children’s bedroom as they drift off or to give yourself time to leave a room whilst you fill your arms up with all you have to carry without tripping over in the dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brightness can be altered to suit the mode you want to create, whether you want the light to shine on everything or you just need enough to create a cinema experience, you can alter the brightness to meet your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With schedules you can set your smart dimmer switch to automatically turn on and off while you’re home or away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Installation is very straight forward, but if you need to call in a qualified electrician. What you do need to know is that Kasa Dimmer Switch<\/a>* does require a neutral wire, most home built after 1978 should be wired with neutral wires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
